Manchester Central Library’s ‘Back a Book’ scheme allows you to nominate any book, publication or journal – held by Manchester Central Library – which you would like to be seen to publicly support as a business or individual, in order to support the Manchester Central Library Development Trust (registered charity no.1150161).
In exchange for a three-year sponsorship of that particular title – for a minimum of £300 + VAT – the sponsoring company or individual will get an elegant, personalised ‘Back a Book’ award which will prominently feature your chosen book or publication.
Please note that for corporate donors the chosen title will also be exclusive to you – and no other firm will be able to lay claim to it while your three-year sponsorship is valid. For example, only one legal firm will be able to publicly back Legal Week, only one architect practice can back the Architect’s Journal, and only one bio-tech or science organisation can back New Scientist.
Whatever you choose to back, the bright, bold and striking ‘Back A Book’ award, mounted on a heavy 8” x 6” diamond-cut clear acrylic block, has been specially designed to be proudly displayed in the workplace.
Imagine your Back A Book award in your reception, boardroom or office; demonstrating your support for the work of Central Library while also creating a talking point for visitors, clients, suppliers and new business prospects.
Your chosen publication will also help to convey to others both your company’s, values, culture and/or professional expertise – so deciding which title to back may require some consideration.
We have specialist Library staff on hand to help you select an appropriate title for you – or suggest some alternatives if your preferred choice has already been backed by another sponsor.
And if you were considering backing a book as a gift, but are unsure what the Library has in stock, we can create for you a shortlist of possible titles based on the recipient’s interests, preferred author or genre of literature.
Either way, once you have chosen which book to back, and have indicated your level of sponsorship (minimum of £300 + vat for three years), we will do the rest; generating an invoice and – upon payment – arranging to get your personalised award produced and delivered to you quickly*.
